UPSC EPFO Recruitment Exam Vacancies: Some time ago the Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) released a notification regarding the EPFO recruitment exam. EPFO or Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation is a body governed by the provisions of Employees’ Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952, and it comes under the Ministry of Labour and Employment. The purpose of this body is to maintain and encouraging people to save funds for their retirement purposes, which are called “Provident Funds”.
The notification stated that there are a total of 421 vacancies, on the posts of Enforcement Office and Accounts Officers. Out of these vacancies, 62 are for SC, 33 for ST, 116 for OBC, 42 for EWS, and 168 for unreserved category.
UPSC EPFO Recruitment Exam Vacancies 2020:
Eligibility Criteria for UPSC EPFO:
The eligibility criteria are decided based on age and qualification level. The upper age limit for applying for the EPFO recruitment exam is 30 years. Also, there is some age relaxation for specified candidates, i.e. SC/ST candidates and candidates who are employees of Employees’ Provident Fund Organization have an age relaxation of 5 years. OBC candidates have an age relaxation of 3 years for this exam.
Talking about the educational qualification criteria for the UPSC EPFO recruitment exam is graduation in any field through a recognized University or its equivalent qualification authorized by the central government.
The desired qualifications are as follows:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, or a 5-year degree in Law, or PG Diploma in Management, or PG in Business Administration, or Company Secretary, CMA, or CA
- Two years of experience in Accounts/Administration/Legal Matters in any private organization, whether government or listed.
The UPSC EPFO Selection Procedure
The applications for the exam had to be submitted online, starting from January 11, 2020, and closing on January 21, 2020. The recruitment exam is conducted in two stages, the first being the pen and paper-based written test with multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and the second being interview.
The minimum level of suitability for qualifying the interview for General is 50 marks, OBC is 45 marks, and for SC, ST, and PH (Physically handicapped) is 40. While for Recruitment Test the minimum suitability will be decided by the Commission.
In the previous UPSC EPFO exam conducted in 2017, the cut-off or minimum level of suitability of marks for qualifying the recruitment test and interview out of 100 each for different categories were as follows:
- General: Recruitment Test:49.5, Interview: 50
- OBC: Recruitment Test:44.5, Interview: 44
- SC: Recruitment Test:42.5, Interview: 40
- ST: Recruitment Test:43.5, Interview: 40
For selection, a candidate needs to achieve the “minimum level of suitability” in both the written recruitment test and the interview. The result of the exam is hosted on the official website of UPSC, www.upsc.gov.in.
