Across different centers all over India, the SSC CHSL Tier-1 exam is going to be conducted from March 17, 2020, to March 28, 2020. This year too, like previous years, lakhs of candidates have applied for the exam and the competition along with the difficulty level is quite high.

Important Topics for SSC CHSL 2020:
The CHSL exam conducted by SSC is an online, computer-based multiple-choice exam. It comprises of our sections of are Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, General Awareness and General Intelligence and Reasoning. Each of these carries an equal number of questions with equal weightage of marks, i.e. 25 questions in each section carrying 50 marks. Also, there is a negative marking of 0.5 for each wrong answer.
The total time allowed for the exam is 60 minutes. Hence, the candidates should focus most on maintaining their speed and not sacrificing the accuracy, as it can cost them a lot of marks.
Important topics in Quantitative Aptitude
The topics that could be classified as relatively easy are Percentage, Average, problems on ages, Number System, Number Series with all having 1 question each. There are 1-2 questions from Simplification, Time, Speed and Distance, Profit and Loss, Simple and Compound Interest, Mixture and Alligation, which are all moderate difficulty level topics. Data interpretation is also moderate, and might have 4-5 questions. Algebra, Geometry, Trignometry, and Mensuration are all hard difficulty level topics and might have 2-4 questions each.
Important topics from English Language
The important topics from the English Language comprise of Synonyms and Antonyms, Fill in the blanks, Spelling Test, Idioms and Phrases, One-word substitution, Sentence or Phrase Improvement from the vocabulary. From grammar, the important topics are sentence correction, spotting errors, active and passive voice, direct and indirect speech, and fill in the blanks. Comprehension will be tested by a passage for reading comprehension with 5 questions based on it.
Important topics from General Awareness
General Awareness is a very vast ranging section and requires long-time learning and reading to do well at. However, with some important topics you can do well in little time. They are the vedic culture, facts about Harappa and Indus Civilization, temples, kings, chronology of medieval India, neighboring countries, important institutions of the world like BRICS, Wolrd Bank, etc., Five years plans, terminology of budget, Supreme Court, Election of president and his functions, fundamental duties, facts about parliament, and Governor and his functions. From general science there could be questions on Biology, Chemistry, and Physics up to the level of 12th standard.
With proper allocation to all the sections, as per your preparation for them, you can expect to get a high score if you revise all the above-mentioned topics thoroughly.
